Three Killed in Crash with Two Tractor-Trailers on NJ Turnpike

Mount Laurel, NJ —Three people were killed in a multiple-vehicle crash, involving two tractor-trailers, on the New Jersey Turnpike on Thursday, December 27, 2012. The fatal automobile accident occurred just after 10 a.m. near milepost 39.8 in Mount Laurel, reports NJ.com.

According to reports, the crash involved two semi-trucks and two other vehicles, when one of the tractor-trailers hit a Toyota Camry from behind in the southbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike.

Three people in the Camry were killed in the crash. A fourth person in the vehicle was transported to Cooper University Hospital in Camden for medical treatment.

The drivers of the two tractor-trailers and the fourth vehicle, a Ford Edge, did not report any injuries.

The wreck also left one tractor-trailer jack-knifed in the road.

The cause of the fatal accident is unknown and remains under investigation.
