Brooklyn Estate Planning Attorney Yana Feldman Offers Free Services for Israel-bound Volunteers

Brooklyn estate planning attorney Yana Feldman, founder of New York Legacy Lawyers by Yana Feldman & Associates PLLC, has announced a new initiative to help individuals planning to volunteer in Israel. Understanding the current situation in the region, New York Legacy Lawyers is offering complimentary estate planning services to individuals traveling there.

New York Legacy Lawyers, led by Yana Feldman, is a high-profile law firm based in Brooklyn, New York.

This initiative is led by Brooklyn estate planning attorney Yana Feldman, whose commitment to her clients extends beyond the borders of New York. Feldman believes in the importance of estate planning, for individuals of all ages. “Many people who are volunteering in Israel are in their 20s and 30s, and may not have a plan in place yet. We are here to offer peace of mind – if you are helping Israel, we are helping you” she said.

“Some people may think estate planning is planning for death, but I think it is much more about planning for life – right now you are leaving your life in the US to help in Israel. What if things need to be taken care of in New York while you are unavailable? A Power of Attorney will allow a trusted friend or family member to make decisions and transactions on your behalf.”

To make the process as accessible and straightforward as possible, clients are given a questionnaire to complete. They then have the opportunity to discuss their responses and any concerns with a Brooklyn estate planning attorney from New York Legacy Lawyers via phone or Zoom. Post meeting, documents are prepared for their review.

For the signing process, clients are given the option to either visit the office in Brooklyn or have the documents sent to them with clear instructions. However, it is important to note that two unrelated witnesses not named in the documents and a notary are required for the signing.

Feldman said, “We understand that not everyone will be able to visit our office in person, which is why we are offering a flexible signing process. We’ve even had attorneys from Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Texas, and California volunteer to help with this initiative.”

The importance of a well-drafted will cannot be overstated. It serves as a tool for honoring one’s wishes regarding their assets, children’s guardianship, establishment of trusts for minors and disabled beneficiaries, funeral wishes, tax planning, and the appointment of executors and trustees. As such, it is a cornerstone of effective estate planning.

New York Legacy Lawyers aims to ensure that an individual’s wishes, as stated in their will, are honored, no matter the stage of their life. The team is committed to reviewing all available options with the clients and establishing a will that best suits their needs.

Taking this important step before embarking on a journey to Israel is more than a precaution; it’s a measure to secure an individual’s legacy. With the professional help from the attorneys at New York Legacy Lawyers, clients can embark on their journeys knowing their estate matters have been properly managed.
