New York, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – Macy’s Merchandising Group Inc. announced the recall of First Impressions Boy’s Three-Piece Santa Set through the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) www.cpsc.gov on January 26, 2010. The product was recalled due to a choking hazard.
All consumers who have purchased these sets are advised to take the suits away from any young children who may put the suit’s easily detachable buttons in their mouths or remove the buttons. There were about 9,600 of the Boy’s Three-Piece Santa Sets sold at Macy’s and Macys.com and at locations in Puerto Rico or U.S. Navy Exchange stores.
The hazards of the Santa sets are that the buttons may become loose on the suit’s jacket and pose a choking threat for younger children. There have not been any injuries reported to the company or the CPSC in regards to the suits. The China-manufactured three-piece Santa suits included a jacket, pants and a hat for infants through 2 years of age. Consumers may identify the products sold at Macy’s stores by the UPC numbers: 0689439416622, 0689439417131, 0689439417148, 0689439417155, 0689439417162, and 0689439417179. For the suits purchased at Navy Exchange stores, the UPC numbers are: 0706254537346, 0706254537353, 0706254537360, 0706254537377, 0706254537384, and 0706254537391.
The Santa suits were sold from September 2009 through December 2009 for the price between $2- and $40. The tracking label may be found on the side seam of the top and bottom of the suit, which is Style # 9131, Supplier # 22155, Mfg #34837. All consumers should take the buttons off the jacket or go to a Macy’s or U.S Navy Exchange store to receive a refund.
