Samsung has partnered with Commons Project Foundation, claiming that the company will now allow Samsung users to store the digital version of their vaccination cards. These cards will be able to get spotted in the Samsung pay wallet, the company declared recently.
Commons projects Foundation has been working for the wellbeing of the general public by providing them immense opportunities and services in the digital world. Recently, the non-profitable healthcare foundation partnered with Samsung and launched a digital Covid-19 vaccination card option for the public.
The vaccination card can be stored in Samsung digital pay wallet. Users can show their cards online, rather than carrying a physical paper card proof along with them, the company stated. However, in order to avail of the newly launched feature, users have to follow a few steps.
All Samsung users who are interested in leveraging this distinctive feature have to first download the application of CommonHealth. The application is entirely free, and users can access it from google play on their Samsung devices.
While updating about the new feature, Samsung announced;
“Samsung Pay simplifies transactions for millions of mobile device users. As more and more consumers use their Samsung devices as a digital wallet, it is a natural extension to make Covid-19 vaccination records more easily accessible.” Product Director of Samsung pay, Rob White, stated while talking about the new update.
After a simple and comprehensive follow-up of guidelines, users will be able to access their cards. They can contact the platform from where they got vaccinated and acquire the digital version of Covid-19 vaccination cards. However, it is important to note that at the moment, not all the platforms, such as vaccine provider pharmacies and health systems, are affiliated with the digital card of Samsung.
“We are proud to partner with The Commons Project Foundation on this important initiative and to help make life easier.” Rob White further stated.
Users can quickly adjoin the card to their Samsung wallet, Once they get successful access to the digital covid vaccination card. Once the process is completed, users will be able to locate their vaccination card on the homepage of Samsung pay wallet.
The company further stated on their blog post;
“CommonHealth’s collaboration with Samsung marks another important milestone as the availability and acceptance of SMART Health Cards as the standard for digital vaccination records continues to expand.”
However, the controversy is still prevailing whether the digitally produced vaccination card will be accepted by restaurants, educational institutions, and workplaces.
