Alden, NY – The man convicted in the 1980 death of Beatles musician, John Lennon, has been denied parole. As reported by ABC News, a parole board denied Mark David Chapman, who pleaded guilty to second degree murder after shooting Lennon outside of his apartment complex in Manhattan, parole for a seventh time on Thursday.
The New York State Board of Parole is quoted in the report as writing to Chapman in it’s decision, “You shot and killed an innocent victim, an international music star… Your actions clearly demonstrated a callous disregard for the sanctity of human life.”
Chapman is being held at the Wende Correctional Facility in Alden. His next parole hearing is set for August 2014.
