On Wednesday, August 03, 2011, a tour bus that was carrying 28 passengers overturned on an upstate New York highway, according to information obtained by New York City injury attorney Jonathan C Reiter. The New York bus crash occurred on I-81, south of Cortland, at approximately 7:30 pm on Wednesday evening.

According to details received by New York injury lawyer Jonathan C Reiter, emergency crews responded to reports of a New York bus crash in the southbound lanes of the highway, near Whitney Point. Preliminary reports stated some passengers were injured and others were trapped. There were no initial reports of casualties of the New York bus crash.

Later reports from the Broome County Sheriff’s Department clarified that four individuals were seriously injured in the New York bus crash. Another 36 people suffered minor injuries. Two local hospitals explained they were treating 16 people from the crash, and some EMS workers performed triage at the scene, according to New York City injury attorney Jonathan C Reiter.

This most recent New York bus crash is the latest of many. On Friday, July 23, 2011, a New York City-bound tour bus was involved in a highway crash with a tractor trailer. This New York bus crash occurred on I-90 in Waterloo. According to New York City injury attorney Jonathan C Reiter, the Waterloo crash resulted in the death of the tractor trailer driver, and injuries to 30 others.

Prior to the Waterloo, New York bus crash a Chinatown-bound tour bus overturned near the Hutchinson River Parkway exit and resulted in 13 casualties.

New York City injury attorney Jonathan C Reiter also points out that a September 11, 2010 New York bus crash killed four people. The double-decker Megabus was traveling on the Onondaga Lake Parkway in Salina when it ran into a low railroad bridge and caused major damage to both bridge and bus.

Jonathan C Reiter is currently representing a family member of one of the people who were killed in the crash.

According to New York City injury attorney Jonathan C Reiter, 32 individuals have died in bus crashes this year, and another 323 have been injured.

*Leading Manhattan bus accident lawyer Jonathan C. Reiter states if you or a loved one has been injured or killed in an automobile accident, you may be entitled to compensation for your injuries and damages. With over thirty years of experience litigating the complex claims of car, truck, motorcycle and bus accident victims and their families, contacting New York City injury attorney Jonathan C Reiter with regard to your personal injury case may help you obtain the compensation you deserve.
