The bike accident occurred before 2 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2010, prompting the arrival of Pacifica police and emergency medical services (EMS) personnel. The motorcyclist was reportedly booked into San Mateo County Jail, with his bail set at $50,000. Reports indicated a 48-year-old SoCal resident, accompanied by a 50-year-old female passenger, were riding a motorcycle when it seemingly fell over. Upon doing so, they discovered the inebriated motorcyclist and his badly injured passenger. The unidentified woman was reportedly rushed to San Francisco General Hospital. According to Pacifica Police Capt. Dave Bertini, the victim was placed in the intensive care unit with head injuries. It was not stated if the woman suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) in the motorcycle wreck. “Everybody is in danger on the roads during a weekend of this sort… People tend to overindulge during holidays, and this is the type of thing that ends up happening,” Bertini said. Police are conducting a full investigation into the DUI-related motorcycle accident.
