Marble, CO—A fatal aviation accident occurred near Marble, Colorado Sunday, June 6, 2010. The plane crash resulted in one casualty and left two others injured, according to information provided by Boston.com.
Reports indicated there were three people aboard a single-engine Beech G35 aircraft when it went down at approximately 7 a.m. The crash scene was located in western Colorado, 125 miles west of Denver.
The Carbondale Fire Department, along with crews from Gunnison and Pitkin counties, rushed to the scene after the deadly plane crash occurred.
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) spokesperson Mike Fergus reported one person dead and two others injured. The surviving crash victims were transported to area hospitals. While one person allegedly suffered critical injuries, the extent of the other victim’s injures was undisclosed.
The identities of those involved in the plane wreck were not immediately known. However, the owner of the 1956 model year aircraft was reported to be William Fritts of Osceola, Missouri. A call made to Fritts’ home was not returned.
FAA officials are expected to conduct a full probe into the unfortunate aviation accident.
