California 18-wheeler accident attorneys alert- The “Ikki Twins” were involved in a crash in their Volkswagen Jetta in Bakersfield, CA.
Bakersfield, CA—The MTV reality television dating show stars, the “Ikki twins,” were involved in a collision with a semi-truck on Wednesday, March 3, 2010. One of the twins, Erica “Rikki” Mongeon, has since been placed in a medically induced coma due to blood pooling on her brain, as reported by Seattle Post Intelligencer.
Victoria “Vikki” Mongeon and her twin sister Erica, both 29, who were the stars of “A Double Shot at Love,” were both reportedly in a Volkswagen Jetta when they pulled over onto the shoulder of the road after apparently hitting a spare tire. As they were pulling off the roadway, a passing semi-truck clipped the girl’s car from behind. Following the accident, both sisters were reportedly feeling OK, but Erica had a bump on her head and thankfully decided to get it checked out as a preventative measure. Doctors soon found that Erica had blood on her brain, and may have suffered a potential traumatic brain injury (TBI), and immediately put her in a medically induced coma. She is currently in the intensive care unit (ICU) at a local hospital, but attending doctors are optimistic about her recovery.
It was not reported if the semi-truck pulled over after hitting the car, or if the driver was cited for the collision. The Bakersfield Police Department is reportedly investigating the collision.
