Personal Injury Bulletin: Teen pedestrian killed by out of control Toyota vehicle

Legal news for Connecticut Personal Injury attorneys– A Toyota vehicle crashed into two teenage pedestrians in Hartford, CT after it ran a red light.

Hartford, CT (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – An out of control Toyota struck and killed a teenage boy Sunday night, November 1, 2009, announced the Hartford Courant.

Police reported that the 16-year-old boy was walking with a friend across Elliott Street close to Wethersfield Avenue when the fatal incident took place around 9 p.m.

The Toyota reportedly ran a red light with its head lights off through the Wethersfield Avenue intersection when a Chevy SUV hit the Toyota. The Toyota then spun out of control, and hit the two teenage boys on Elliott Street.

The 17-year-old driver of the Toyota got out of his vehicle and fled the scene, while one boy lay lifeless on the ground. He was later found while he was being treated for injuries at Hartford Hospital. Witnesses identified the teenage driver and he was charged with manslaughter, operating a motor vehicle without a license, leaving the scene of a fatal accident, reckless driving along with other charges.

The two boys who were struck by the Toyota were taken to the Hartford Hospital for treatment. Anthony Morales passed away soon after arriving at the hospital. Morales’ friend, 16-year-old Travis Seaborne, was reported to be in critical but stable condition.
