Google Dark Mode is Now Available for Desktop App of Google Chats

In a recent update, Google announced the feature upgrade of dark mode to its web browsers. The company stated that now users of google chat will be able to leverage from the dark mode. The feature is available on the google chats web application. The web client has also received a “dark mode” theme for the platform along with PWA (progressive web application).

The “dark mode” option is available in the settings. Upon opening the setting menu, users will be able to locate the dark mode in “themes.” The new feature is available for desktop google chat users. The dark mode will assist in less battery consumption and a better lighting experience in the nighttime.

While updating about the feature tech giant stated;

“Dark mode creates a better viewing experience in low-light conditions by reducing brightness and potentially reducing eye strain.”

The users will decide about the theme selection, whereas by default, the setting will remain the same. In case a user wants to shift to “dark mode” at night, they can go to the desktop setting and shift the theme to “dark mode.” The company announced that the update might take some days to reach out to all the web users. Users are requested to wait for 15 days for the upgrade of the new feature.

It is important to note, earlier on, Google chat “dark mode” was enabled on all the Android and iOS mobile devices. Google classrooms, drive, chat, and data studio are the Google platforms that encounter outer communication. Google stated that with the new privacy policy, only trusted domains would be allowed to enter the user’s chat accounts, classrooms, and share files.
