CPSC: BebeLove™ Baby Walkers Recalled For Fall/Entrapment Risks

02/17/2014 // WPB, FL, USA // Injury Lawyers News // Nicole Howley // (press release)

New York, N.Y.—The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and BebeLove have voluntarily recalled BebeLove™ Baby Walkers for fall and entrapment hazards they pose to young children. The CPSC announced the nationwide product recall on February 6, 2014.

The baby walkers were recalled after discovering that the walkers fail to meet federal safety standards, which can result in the child being seriously hurt or killed. The BebeLove™ Baby Walker style number 358 can fit through a standard doorway and does not stop at the edge of a step, which is a requirement mandated by the federal safety standard, while style number 368 leg openings are wide enough for a child to fall down into until the child’s head can become entrapped at the neck.

“The recalled includes all BebeLove walkers that were sold for babies age 6 months or older. The walkers contain a plastic- covered foam padded seat with a plastic base and toy tray. Model 358 walkers have a green, pink or orange musical tray with a white toy bar and solid colored seats. Model 368 walkers have green, pink or white musical tray with a yellow toy bar and printed patterned seats. Both models have white stoppers on the bottom of the base of the walker and model numbers printed on a label on the rear bottom inside of the base. ‘BEBELOVE’ is printed on a label on the seat back and on the base of the walkers, the CPSC reported.

Consumers are advised to contact BebeLove for a free repair.
