Fred & Friends Recalls Baby Pacifiers Due To Choking Hazards

02/04/2014 // WPB, FL, USA // Injury Lawyers News // Nicole Howley // (press release)

New York, N.Y.— The Fred & Friends Chill Baby Artiste, Volume and Panic pacifiers have been voluntarily recalled by Fred & Friends and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) due to choking hazards as a result of not meeting federal safety standards. The CPSC announced the nationwide product recall on January 30, 2013.

The pacifiers were recalled after discovering that mustache on the Ariste and the knob on the Volume pacifiers can separate from the rest of the pacifier and pose a choking hazard to children. In addition, the ventilation holes on the Volume and panic pacifier guards are too small.

“This recall involves three styles of Fred & Friends Chill Baby pacifiers, including the Artiste with a black plastic beard and mustache, Volume with a black volume control knob and Panic with a red panic button. The pacifier’s name and UPC are printed on the packaging. The Artiste’s UPC is 728987021282, the Volume style’s UPC is 728987020599 and the Panic style’s UPC is 728987020605. The pacifiers are plastic and silicone rubber and measure about 2 inches wide and 1½ inches tall“, the CPSC reported.

Consumers are advised to return the pacifiers to Fred & Friends for a $12 refund.
