President Obama to receive King Mohamed VI for strategic talks

HM King Mohammed VI will pay, on November 22, 2013, a working visit to the USA, at the invitation of US president Barack Obama, who will receive HM the King at the White House.

The two countries have enjoyed uninterrupted, friendly ties which have lasted over two centuries.

This visit will highlight the partnership between the two parties in different areas and will reinforce the Morocco-US Strategic Dialogue which was launched last year.

The Moroccan-USA strategic dialogue is described by several American diplomats as recognition of Morocco as a major regional pillar, under the leadership of the Moroccan King Mohammed VI who has endeavored to reinforce and diversify the Rabat-Washington partnership to serve the two countries’ shared interests.

The visit will also be opportunity for the two leaders to discuss regional and international issues of shared interests in order to foster coordination and cooperation and undertake joint initiatives to address the challenges facing the MENA region, mainly extremism and terrorism, and promote stability and development in Sub-Saharan Africa.
