Nashville – Country musician Brad Paisley and wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley have stepped forward as victims of an elaborate hoax. As reported by ABC News, Williams-Paisley claims she was sent an email from a woman who falsely purported her daughter was dying of a pediatric cancer called neuroblastoma.

Williams-Paisley is quoted in the report as stating of the woman, “She said that her daughter had begged her to get in touch with me.” She further stated that she had communicated with the woman, Carrie, over the course of 10 days, and even received what were supposed to be photographs of the young girl.

A year-long investigation by “Nightline” revealed that other celebrities had also been scammed by the woman’s hoax. Singer Natalie Grant, who was also scammed, is quoted as stating to the news source, “When I spoke to this woman she said she was the mom of a little girl and that her heart was breaking as she was watching her only daughter die… We all were devastated by it and it’s so disturbing that someone was claiming the identity of a little child with cancer and tried to pass it off as her child.”
