Toronto – Toronto police say they have recovered a video of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford depicting what appears to be him smoking from a crack pipe. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Police Chief Bill Blair expressed disappointment, but claimed there was nothing to provide grounds for bringing charges against the mayor after reviewing the video, which had been deleted from a computer.

Reporters with the Toronto Star alleged after the scandal initially broke in May that they had seen the video, but it had not been publicly released at the time. Ford maintains that he does not smoke crack and denied the existence of the video.

Blair is quoted by the AP as stating of the matter, “As a citizen of Toronto I’m disappointed. This is a traumatic issue for citizens of this city and the reputation of this city.”
