Los Angeles – Quincy Jones has filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the estate of Michael Jackson over recordings released following the death of the singer. As reported by Rolling Stone, Jones is seeking at least $10 million in damages and unpaid royalties for projects claiming breach of contract.

Henry Gradstein, Jones’ attorney, is quoted as stating to The Hollywood Reporter regarding the lawsuit, “Quincy has been frustrated with these matters for a number of years, felt he was not making any progress and needed to take more formal action.”

Howard Weitzman, an attorney for the Jackson estate, is further quoted as releasing the statement in response to the filing of the suit, “The estate of Michael Jackson was saddened to learn that Quincy Jones has filed a lawsuit seeking money from Michael’s estate… To the best of our knowledge, Mr. Jones has been appropriately compensated over approximately 35 years for his work with Michael.”
