Fatal monster truck crash blamed on officials

Ciudad Juarez, Mexico – Experts are blaming a fatal monster truck crash in Mexico on organizers of the event. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Mexican government officials and organizers pointed the blame at the driver of the vehicle; however, on Monday.

“Extreme Aeroshow” organizers claimed numerous people had gathered in a purported pit area without permission, which posed a safety hazard.

Marty Garza, spokesman for the Monster Truck Racing Association, which is the primary safety organization for the industry in the United States, is quoted by the AP as stating of the issue, “There was some pretty blatant disregard for the safety of spectators…There is no excuse for why the spectators were situated as they were, period.”

Eight people were killed and 79 were injured in the incident.
