New York – President Barack Obama and former President Bill Clinton joined forced on Tuesday to promote Obama’s health care law. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), both spoke about the law’s benefits while speaking at an appearance sponsored by the Clinton Global Initiative.

Obama is quoted by the AP as stating of the health care reform measure, “I don’t have pride of authorship for this thing, I just want the thing to work.” The president further asserted that Americans skeptical about the law would be swayed by the advantages of it.

Clinton, who pointed out shortcomings in the implementation of the measure, asserted Obama was not to blame for issues that may arise from things such as a Supreme Court ruling of which the court said states could not be forced to accept Medicaid money for the financing of health care coverage expansion.

Clinton is quoted as stating, “That’s going to lead to a cruel result, and there’s nothing the president can do, and it’s not his fault. That’s what the Supreme Court said.”

The two presidents were introduced by Mrs. Clinton, who stated of their commonalities, “They’re both left-handed, love golf and have fabulous daughters… And one more thing… They each married far above themselves.”
