Bethlehem, PA — Officials are investigating a work-related accident that killed a tree trimmer who was clearing branches from power lines in Bethlehem, Lehighvalleylive.com reports.

According to authorities, Robert Roger, 42, of Lock Haven, was fatally shocked while trimming branches along the towpath under the Minsi Trail Bridge.

Roger was reportedly a foreman for Asplundh, who was hired by PPL Electric Utilities to keep the brush from the power lines in Bethlehem’s towpath.

Officials believe that Rogers hit a high-voltage power line, which caused his truck to catch fire. Rogers then either jumped or fell into the Lehigh River.

Investigations into the fatal work-related accident are underway.
