New York – Twitter has reportedly complied with a subpoena requesting the release of information linked to a user account from which mass murder threats were made regarding a Broadway show. As reported by CBS News, the social network released information to the New York Police Department related to an investigation into threats made toward the audience of former boxer Mike Tyson’s one man show.

As noted in the report, Twitter initially denied the request of the NYPD to reveal the identity of the account holder prior to the subpoena.

Twitter co-founder and Executive Chairman Jack Dorsey is quoted in the report as stating of the matter, “I don’t know this specific case. I haven’t been briefed on it. But we always comply with local laws, and we also have to balance that with defending our users’ voice, which we believe strongly in.”
