Fairland, Indiana – A young boy’s life may have reportedly been saved after a head injury led to the discovery of a brain tumor. As reported by TheIndyChannel.com, the parents of 9-year-old Jacob Holdaway took the child to the hospital after he was hit in the head while playing kickball, and suffered a minor injury that led to doctors finding a large mass, which he had surgery to remove.

Andy Hamilton, Jacob’s father, is quoted in the report as stating of the discovery of the tumor, “We have faith in God. He’s in control all the way… If he hadn’t gotten hit, we wouldn’t have found out.”

Doctors were reportedly able to remove all but a small part of the tumor. Although the tumor is benign Jacob may still need chemotherapy due to issues that could potentially be caused by the small piece of the tumor that remains.
