Maple Heights, OH — Improvements Catalog and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) have announced a nationwide product recall of adjustable ottoman beds for fall hazards the product poses to consumers. The CPSC announced the nationwide product recall on February 15, 2012.

The product recall was issued after discovering that when the ottoman is converted into a bed and weight is put on it, it can collapse and pose a fall hazard to consumers.

Two incidents of minor injuries have been reported as a result of the product defects.

“The product is an ottoman on casters with a folding metal frame and a high-density polyfoam mattress. The ottoman can open out and be converted into a twin-sized bed. Fabric covers are sold separately,” reported the CPSC.

Consumers are advised to contact Improvements for a store credit for the full amount of the purchase price.

For more information, consumers can contact Improvements at (800) 985-6044, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET or visit www.improvementscatalog.com.
