East Aurora, NY — Little People® Builders’ Load ‘n Go Wagon by Fisher-Price are being voluntarily recalled for laceration hazards the product poses. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the product recall on July 28, 2011, which recalled about 208,000 wagons in the United States and 2,800 wagons in Canada.

The nationwide product recall was issued after discovering that the back of the wagon’s plastic handle has molded-in reinforcement, which adds stiffness and facilitates children gripping the handle. A laceration hazard if a child falls on the handle.

Fisher-Price and the CPSC have received seven reports of injuries, which included five children who required stitches or surgical glue.

“This recall involves the Fisher Price’s Little People® Builders’ Load ‘n Go Wagon model number P8977. The product includes a red wagon with a yellow handle, multi-colored plastic blocks and a dog figure. The model number is located on the bottom of the wagon. ‘Little People® Builders’ is found on a label on the side of the wagon and ‘Fisher Price’ is embossed on the handle. Wagons with green handles are not included in this recall,” reported the CPSC.

Consumers are being advised to contact Fisher-Price for instructions to learn how to receive a free repair kit.
