Middleboro, MA — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Nantucket Distributing Co. Inc., have voluntarily recalled Animated Safari and Aquarium Lamps for fire and shock hazards the product poses. The product recall was enacted on June 21, 2011.

The product recall was issued after discovering that defective wiring in the lamps can cause an electrical short, which poses a fire and shock hazard to consumers.

The CPSC reported, “This recall involves Safari and Aquarium themed lamps with UPC numbers 000015556905, 000015618955, 000015821591 and 000015821607 printed on the price label on the cardboard packaging. The decorative lamps are silver and feature rotating films with aquatic and safari scenes. While there are no brand markings directly on the product, ‘Made in China’ is printed on the bottom of the lamp.”

Consumers are advised to return the lamps to any Christmas Tree Shops store to receive a full refund.

For more information concerning the product recall, consumers can contact Christmas Tree Shops toll-free at (888) 287-3232 anytime, or visit www.christmastreeshops.com.
