Louisville, KY — An 8-year-old boy was found hanging in a school bathroom stall on Wednesday, March 23, 2011. Police and school officials are now trying to figure out what exactly happened, reported WDRB.

The unidentified second grader at Frayser Elementary school was found unresponsive in the school’s bathroom while hanging from the stall door.

Responding emergency crews rushed the boy to Kosair Children’s Hospital in an unknown condition.

A JCPS spokesman first reported that the student might have injured himself, but authorities later stated: “Right now we haven’t ruled anything out at this point. Like I said we are still early on in the investigation,” said Sgt. Steve Kaufling with LMPD’s 4th Division to WDRB.

The victim was reportedly learning English as a Second Language, and a translator had to be brought in to help officers talk with his mother.

Police believe this was an isolated incident.

“They must not have been watching him because they are not allowed to go the bathroom without an adult. Something had to happen in the bathroom,” reported one parent, Terry Waters.

Police officers and JCPS are investigating the incident.
