Dallas, TX– Following the discovery of two girls, passed out in their showers, the University of Texas Deans of Students Office has subsequently launched an investigation into the incidents. The two girls had reportedly participated in pledging activities for a sorority prior to being found unconscious, as reported KVUE.

On Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at around 3 a.m., a student living in the Hardin House, a private dormitory for women on the West Campus, reportedly called police after finding her roommate unconscious and foaming at the mouth in the shower. The unconscious young woman had apparently participated in a pledging event for a sorority. She was subsequently treated for alcohol poisoning.

About 45 minutes later, at 3:43 a.m., another student was found passed out in the bathroom of the Almetris Duren Hall dormitory room, and alerted police. The second girl found had also participated in a pledging activity.

A full investigating into the alleged hazing activities is currently underway.
