Washington, DC – Roberta Roller Rabbit by Roberta Freymann, of New York, NY, has issued a voluntary recall of the Roberta Roller Rabbit Children’s Kimono Robe, Lounge sets and Slumber Short Sets. The recall, issued on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, is in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The sleepwear fails to meet the federal standards of flammability for children’s sleepwear. This failure poses a burn hazard for children. While no injuries or incidents were reported, the company is still recalling some 9,200 products.

The recall consists of long sleeved children’s kimono robes, slumber short sets and lounge sets. The clothing was sold in sizes 0 (12 months) 2,4,6,8 and 10. The label on the inside neck of the garments is yellow and reads “Roberta Roller Rabbit.”

The garments were sold at Roberta Roller Rabbit retail stores in New York City and East Hampton, NY, and Santa Monica, CA. They retailed at approximately $50 and were available from January 2005 to February 2010.

The products were manufactured in India.

Roberta Freymann and CPSC advise consumers to stop using the recalled robes and lounge sets immediately. The garments can be returned to Roberta Roller Rabbit retail stores for store credit.
