NJ woman ejected from SUV in crash with dump truck

Legal news for New Jersey motor vehicle accident attorneys –New Jersey State police reported to the scene where a Lincoln Navigator crashed into a dump truck in Freehold NJ.

Freehold, NJ (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – An SUV collided with a dump truck on Route 524 ejecting one woman from her vehicle Monday morning, February 22, 2010, according to the Asbury Park Press.

New Jersey State police reported to the scene of the motor vehicle accident at around 8:45 a.m. Investigators believed that the 2001 Lincoln Navigator was traveling west on the county road when the female driver attempted to pass a Monmouth County Highway Department International dump truck.

The dump truck driver was about to make a left hand turn when the Lincoln struck the front of the dump truck. The SUV swerved off the road and flipped over. The driver of the Navigator, Susan Fiordland, 44, was ejected from the vehicle upon impact of the crash.

Police reported that her injuries proved fatal soon after the motor vehicle accident, at 9:20 a.m. It was not reported if Fiordland was declared dead at the scene, or transported to an area hospital. The dump truck driver, identified as 29-year-old Michael Matullo, resident of Lakewood, was not reported injured in the crash. It was not reported if any citations were issued. Fiordland was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
