Girls’ Hooded Sweatshirts with drawstrings recalled due to Strangulation Hazard

Legal news for New York product liability attorneys –CPSC announced Hooded sweatshirts sold at Burlington Coat Factory were recalled due to strangulation risk.

Hicksville, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – “Old Skool Girl’s Hooded Sweatshirts with Drawstrings” sold nationwide at the Burlington Coat Factory have been recalled by the company in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) www.cpsc.gov due to risk of strangulation to small children.

Those who have purchased these potentially hazardous items are advised to discontinue use. There were about 3,900 sweatshirts sold across the country from November 2007 to September 2009 for the price of $8.00 to $20.00. The sweatshirts were manufactured in China and were made in sizes S-XL. The sweatshirts are described as hooded with a drawstring with long or short sleeves that came in a variety of colors and designs.

The style numbers of the recalled sweatshirts are GC5810, GV105, GV104 and GF254, which can be found on the hang tags along with the price. They were imported through Bobens Trading Company, in Hicksville, New York. There have not been any reports of injuries or strangulation due to the drawstrings as of yet. All who have purchased one of these hoodies are advised to remove the drawstrings of the sweatshirts or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
