Pembroke motor vehicle accident killed one passenger, injured 2

Pembroke, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A wintry two-vehicle crash occurred on Route 5 in the town of Pembroke, fatally injuring one passenger at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2010, according to The Buffalo News.

Police reported to the scene to investigate the motor vehicle accident in conditions of snow and wind. Police officials reported that a 2001 Saturn station wagon appeared to have lost control in the westbound lanes of Route 5 and slid sideways into the eastbound lanes where a 2003 Ford Taurus struck the passenger side of the vehicle in the middle of a snowstorm. Emergency medical services (EMS) were called to the scene to assist with the injured.

The driver of the Ford, was identified as 55-year-old Deborah Osborne, resident of Stafford, who sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Batavia hospital for treatment. The driver of the Saturn was taken via ambulance for severe injuries to be treated by doctors and nurses at Erie County Medical Center.

His passenger was critically injured in the crash and was rushed to United Memorial Medical Center, where his injuries proved fatal upon arrival and doctors declared him to be dead. Their identities were withheld pending notification of the victim’s families. Police have not charged anyone for the motor vehicle accident. The investigation continues.
