NY teenager seriously injured in Sunderland crash

Legal news for Vermont motor vehicle accident attorneys – A two-car crash critically injured one New York teenager in Sunderland on Route 7A.

Sunderland, VT (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – Vermont State police reported to the scene of a serious motor vehicle accident that occurred on Route 7A and injured a new York woman around 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2010, according to the Bennington Banner. Police and emergency medical services (EMS) reported to the scene where a 2008 Hyundai Accent slid into the northbound lanes and a 2000 Toyota 4Runner collided with it head-on, striking the drivers side.

Police reported that the crash took place in wintry conditions around 6:10 p.m. the driver of the Hyundai was identified as 17-year-old Samantha Becker, resident of Shushan, N.Y, who suffered serious injuries in the crash. The driver of the Toyota, identified as 50-year-old Louise Kelly, resident of Manchester, sustained minor injuries in the wreck and was treated by paramedics at the scene. An ambulance transported Becker to be treated by doctors and nurses at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center for severe injuries. Vermont State police continue to investigate the scene of the motor vehicle accident to determine the factors involved in the crash. It was not reported if police had issued any tickets.
