Firefighter injured in NJ apartment blaze

Legal news for New Jersey work-related firefighter death attorneys — A firefighter was injured in a one-alarm apartment fire in Union City.

Union City, NJ (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A brave firefighter sustained injuries while battling an apartment blaze in Union City, Valentines Day morning, February 14, 2010, according to the Jersey Journal.

Firefighters rushed to the scene of the one–alarm apartment blaze at St. Michaels Walk located near 18th street. Responding firefighters from the North Regional Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene around 7:21 a.m. One of the Deputy Chiefs reported that the firefighters battled the flames tirelessly, while keeping the fire contained to the living room in one of the apartments. The room sustained damaged from smoke and water. There was one firefighter who sustained injuries while combating the blaze. It was reported that responding medical professionals treated his injuries at the scene. He sustained a minor injury to his right shoulder.

Officials confirmed that the flames were brought under control at 8:36 a.m. There were no residents injured in the one-alarm blaze. Fire investigators believed that an electrical outlet, which has yet to be determined, possibly started the blaze. The investigation continues.
