NY motor vehicle accident news: Boonville crash injured one man

Boonville, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) — A motor vehicle accident injured one man on Route 12 Monday morning, February 15, 2010, according to Utica Observer Dispatch.

Oneida County Sheriffs reported to the scene to investigate the crash. Responding police reported that one driver, identified as 62-year-old George Spink, was traveling north on Route 12 while transporting four snowmobiles with his vehicle around 9:30 a.m. He attempted to make a turn to change directions by pulling into a parking lot to head south. Spink did not look before he re-entered the road when he drove into the path of another vehicle and collided.

Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived at the scene to assist and transport the injured. The driver, identified as 42-year-old John Brandow, in the second vehicle had been heading northbound at the time of the crash and was traveling with the his wife to go on a vacation. The intense impact of the accident unhitched the trailer with the snowmobiles and sent Spinks vehicle spinning out of control.

A Boonville Ambulance arrived to transport Spink to St. Elizabeth Medical Center to be treated for his chest injuries. He was treated by doctors and nurses and was released. The couple remained unharmed in motor vehicle accident. Police issued Spink a traffic ticket for failure to yield the right of way. He is expected to appear in court in Boonville later. The roadway was closed off from normal traffic flow for an hour.
