Massachusetts high school teen struck by cement truck

Legal news for Massachusetts personal injury attorneys –A pedestrian was struck and injured by a cement truck in Massachusetts.

Danvers, MA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A teenager was walking to his school bus stop when he was struck by a cement truck Thursday morning, February 4, 2010, according to the Eagle-Tribune.

Danvers police arrived at the scene where the accident took place at 7:20 a.m. on Route 62. The 17-year-old boy was seriously injured in the truck accident and emergency medical services (EMS) arrived via medical helicopter to transport the boy to the hospital. Investigating police on the scene reported that the accident took place at the school bus stop at the corner of Burley Avenue and Route 62. The accident reconstruction team also arrived at the scene to determine what caused the tragic pedestrian accident.

The seriously injured teenager was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital, where doctors and nurses cared for him. The teenage pedestrian was not identified, probably due to pending notification of his family. The driver of the cement truck remained unidentified. It was not known how fast he was going at the time of the crash. Traffic was delayed and re-routed for the morning commute for an hour and a half following the accident. The victim of the accident is a student at North Shore Regional Vocational School.

The cement truck was property of Benevento Concrete Corp. with its headquarters in Wilmington. There have been no charges filed in the pedestrian-truck accident due to the continued investigation.
