Pedestrian struck and killed in Hampden Township, PA!

Cumberland County, PA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A tragic accident occurred on Trindle Road when a man was struck by a motor vehicle while crossing the street, Tuesday morning, January 19, 2010, according to the Patriot-News.

Police reported to the scene at the 5200 block of Trindle Road in Hampden Township where a pedestrian was fatally injured at 1 a.m. Responding officials reported that the injured man had been dressed in dark-colored clothing and was in the middle of the street when the motor vehicle hit him.

Emergency medical service (EMS) assisted at the scene. The male pedestrian was declared dead by authorities at the scene of the accident. The woman who was driving the vehicle attempted to help the man who was lying on the pavement before police arrived. The man’s name was not released to the press due to pending notification of his family. Authorities continue to investigate the accident.

Officials stated that the woman who was driving will probably not face charges for the fatal incident. Her identity was not disclosed. The County’s Accident Reconstruction Crew and other officials continue to investigate. Police are asking if anyone witnessed this fatal incident and/or had information regarding it, contact Hampden Township police at 717-761-2609.
