NYC woman files suit against gym over pole-dancing injury

Legal news for New York personal injury attorneys – A NYC woman is suing Crunch fitness for a workout injury.

Manhattan, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A member of a gym in Manhattan has filed a lawsuit after allegedly being neglected during a new workout Thursday January 7, 2010, according to MSNBC.

Sue Ann Wee was working out at Crunch fitness center when she was doing a new pole-dancing work out with an instructor present to supervise. Wee allegedly claimed that she was not given assistance when she hurt both of her shoulders doing one of the exercises. Wee was reportedly doing an upside-down position when she fell to the floor in the class last June. Her attorney claimed that she seriously injured both her shoulders in the workout.

Wee is seeking unspecified compensation for her injuries from the company that owns and runs the Crunch fitness chain. Her lawyer stated that Wee had told the instructor that she could not support herself on the pole, but the supervisor did not help. Wee allegedly claimed in the suit that the pole-dancing class was not properly supervised. The New York fitness center did not comment on the suit. Pole dancing has become a popular workout in metropolitan areas in the past couple years.
