Motor Vehicle Accident News: Dunkirk collision injured 2 drivers

Dunkirk, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – Chautauqua County Sheriff’s reported to the scene where two vehicles collided injuring both drivers on Route 60, Monday, January 4, 2010, according to The Buffalo News.

Police reported that the early morning crash took place on Route 60 at Vineyard Drive when a southbound vehicle struck a northbound vehicle at an intersection around 6:47 a.m. Both motor vehicles had been approaching the intersection at the time of the crash. The first driver was identified as 38-year-old Bianca Nieves, of Forestville.

The driver in the northbound vehicle was identified as 49-year-old Larry Mele, of Portland. Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived at the scene with Fire Rescue to assist at the scene. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office reported an account of the Route 60 motor vehicle accident. EMS ambulances transported Mele and Nieves to be treated for their injuries at Brooks Memorial Hospital where doctors and nurses cared for them.

The extent of the two drivers injuries were unknown. Police charged Nieves with third-degree unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
