Firefighter injured in New Brunswick house blaze

Legal news for New Jersey Work-related firefighter death attorneys—A firefighter was injured in a New Brunswick, New Jersey blaze.

New Brunswick, NJ (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – Responding firefighters arrived to see flames and black smoke billowing out of a 2-story home where one firefighter and a resident were injured Sunday morning, December 13, 2009 according to the Star-Ledger.

The 8:35 a.m. blaze on Suydam Street called several nearby fire department firefighters to extinguish the house fire. Firefighters from New Brunswick, East Brunswick, North Brunswick, Edison, East Franklin and the Middlesex County Mutual Aid Fire Coordinator were at the scene.

One of the firefighters was injured while battling the inferno along with one of the house’s residents who was also injured in the fire. Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived to transport the injured firefighter along with the injured resident. Neither one of the injured were identified.

They were both taken via ambulance to St. Barnabas Burn Center located in Livingston, where doctors and nurses treated them for burn injuries. Their injuries were not specified. It was not reported if any other residents were rescued from the burning house. Fire officials continue to investigate to determine what caused the blaze.
