Delaware Truck Accident Report: Tractor-trailer flipped on I-95 crash

Dover, DE (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A semi truck flipped over on I-95 when his cargo fell out and damaged two other vehicles, on Tuesday, December, 9, 2009, according to News Journal.

Police arrived at the crash scene on the highway at the 5:30 a.m., where the semi truck lay obstructing more than half the highway. The truck driver had reportedly violated federal safety regulations, and failed to secure his 1000 pounds of cargo, which are in the form of several rolls of paper. One of the rolls was improperly fastened by the straps and was launched out of the bed of the truck slamming into two northbound vehicles.

The drivers and passengers of the vehicles remained uninjured, reported police officials. Delaware police also reported that the operator of the truck, identified as 35-year-old Michal Daliessio, resident of Smyrna, who was also unharmed in the wreck.

Northbound traffic was delayed and backed up for miles. Clean up crews worked to remove the paper debris on the roadway. All drivers were advised to seek alternative routes of transportation. The truck driver was cited for his violation.
