Personal Injury Alert: Female pedestrian struck by city truck

Boston, MA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A woman was struck by a city truck in downtown Boston on Wednesday morning, November 11, 2009, announced the Boston Globe.

The serious accident occurred at 11:20 a.m. at the intersection of Tremont and Winter Streets, where shocked witnesses reported witnessing the tragic event. The woman had been walking across the street when suddenly she was launched into the air when she was struck by a Ford pickup with the Boston Public Works logo on the side.

Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived at the scene to take the injured woman via ambulance to Tufts Medical Center for serious head injuries.

Many witnesses were awaiting the Veterans Day parade that was scheduled to be coming down the same area where the crash took place. Detectives questioned the driver of the truck. His name and age were not released.

Eyewitnesses reported that the woman hit by the truck was an older woman who was attired in jeans, a black shirt, and a blue jacket. She was struck crossing Tremont Street when the truck hit her. The front end of the Ford truck was visibly damaged. Police continue to investigate.
