Truck Accident Notice: Truck slides into embankment, driver survives!

Tioga County, PA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – All vehicles that traveled in the southbound lanes of Route 15 during Tuesday morning rush hour in Tioga County, had to seek alternative routes due a tractor trailer crash Tuesday, November 10, 2009, announced WETM.

Police reported that the southbound lanes of traffic on Route 15 were closed, after a semi truck slid off the highway and fell into the embankment. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PENNDOT) http://www.dot.state.pa.us/ sent officials to investigate the wreck that occurred a mile north of Mansfield.

The crash took place before 8 a.m., Tuesday morning. Police reported that the driver of the truck was traumatized by the wreck, and escaped with only minor injuries. It was not reported if he was transported to the hospital. The driver’s identity was not released.

Route 15 lanes were also shut down temporarily for several hours. PENNDOT authorities said that all motorists should be alert for the slow moving traffic due to the truck accident.

Police officials were not sure what caused the truck to crash into the embankment. Investigators continue to probe the accident to determine what caused the wreck.
