New York motorcyclist injured in pickup truck crash in Sandwich

Sandwich, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A pickup truck collided with a motorcyclist on Route 6A in near Riverview School in Sandwich on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, announced the Cape Cod Times.

Police officials reported that the pickup truck crashed into the motorcyclist traveling the opposite direction on 551 Route 6A. A Fire Department representative reported that the crash occurred at 6:52 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Police and emergency medical services arrived at the scene to investigate and transport the injured at the scene close to 7:30 a.m.

On the scene of the accident, police reported that the GMC pickup truck had been making a turn off of Route 6A when it struck the motorcyclist that had been heading the opposite way.

The crash injured the motorcyclist, identified as man in his 20’s from East Sandwich. EMS transported the injured cyclist to Cape Cod Hospital where he was treated for his moderate injuries by doctors and nurses. Medical officials said that his condition was not fatal.

The driver of the pickup truck was identified as a man, also in his 20’s from Pocasset. Police documented him for failure to yield.
