New York Construction Accident Alert: Worker killed by dump truck!

Penn Yan, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A man was fatally injured when he was working on a boat house and a dump truck barreled into the site and crushed the worker on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, announced the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.

The construction worker from Penn Yan, New York was working alongside two other workers at the boat house when suddenly a dump truck transporting stones for the work site lost control and the truck rolled down the 25-foot hill crashed into the boathouse and killed the worker inside.

The Yate’s County Sheriff’s department identified the worker as 28-year-old Joshua Larham. The accident took place on Lower East Lake Road in the town of Milo.

Police reported that Joshua was declared dead at the scene around 1:20 p.m. The two other workers that were present working on the exterior of the now demolished boathouse survived the crash unharmed.

Police identified the operator of the dump truck as 60-year-old Timothy Paddock, resident of Penn Yan. The two other workers names were not released. Police are investigating to determine the cause of the fatal incident.
