Product Liability: Directors Chairs Sold at Lowe’s Stores Recalled Due to Fall Hazard

WASHINGTON, DC (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission,(CPSC) www.CPSC.gov in cooperation with White Tiger and Lowe’s, has announced a voluntary recall of Directors Chairs sold at stores nation-wide due to fall hazard. Consumers are advised to stop using these chairs immediately unless otherwise informed.

The product that has been voluntarily recalled is “Folding Directors Chairs,” that come in an array of colors. The units that have been in stock or purchased nation-wide at Lowe’s stores are involved in the recall.

The chairs were imported by L G Sourcing, Inc., of North Wilkesboro, N.C. The product was manufactured by White Tiger Traders Company Ltd. Taiwan in Indonesia. The chairs have been recalled because the chair back supports are capable of breaking while in use, and pose a fall hazard.

There have not been any injuries reported due to the product malfunctioning; however there have been ten reports of the Director Chairs breaking while in use. The product recall was performed by White Tiger. The chairs were described as blue and red chairs that were framed with white. The term “Garden Treasures” can be found printed on the back of these chairs packaging.

The lawn chairs were sold across the nation between June 2009 and July 2009 for the sale price of $40. If you have purchased one of these chairs, you as a consumer, are advised to return the defective product to any Lowe’s location and receive a full refund.
