New Hampshire SUV Rollover crash: Vermont man killed in I-93 crash with Semi

An SUV rollover involved a semi truck in the southbound lanes in Hooksett, NH fatally injured one driver.

Hooksett, NH (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) — A man from Vermont was fatally injured in a semi truck collision on the Interstate 93 on Monday afternoon, October 12, 2009, announced the Boston Herald.

The motor vehicle collision (MVC) created a traffic jam on the Interstate on the Columbus Day Holiday. Police in Vermont reported that a sport utility vehicle (SUV) traveling northbound on I-93 was approaching Exit 9 when the vehicle jumped the median, and crossed into the southbound traffic lanes.

The driver of the SUV was identified as Ben Bishop, 41, resident of Stowe, Vermont. The semi truck was reportedly traveling in the southbound lanes when the SUV went barreling into it. The semi truck driver reported that he tried to dodge the out of control SUV, but could not.

The SUV crashed into the tractor-trailer and then rolled over, killing Ben Bishop. Police identified the driver of the semi truck as Joseph Bellandi, resident of Manchester. Emergency medical services (EMS) transported the truck driver to the local hospital for his injuries.

The fatal accident shut down the southbound side of I-93 for close to 5 hours. Police continue to investigate the crash.
