New York Motor Vehicle Collision injured 2 in Monroe County

Monroe County, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) A motor vehicle collision (MVC) occurred near Interstate 390 on Lehigh Station Road Thursday morning, October 8, 2009, announced the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.

Police officials reported a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and a car collided, which trapped the drivers inside of their respective vehicles until emergency medical services (EMS) could pull them out to safety.

Authorities on the scene of the crash reported the crash it took place at 7:30 a.m., Thursday morning. The people were reportedly rescued from their damaged vehicles by 8:15 a.m. EMS crews loaded a passenger, and one driver into an ambulance to go to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries by doctors and nurses. Their names and ages were not released.

Fire Chief Jim Comstock reported that the two injured people did not appear to be in life-threatening condition. The collision did slow down the morning commute in the southbound lanes of traffic on Leigh Station Road. One lane was completely closed due to the wreck. Monroe County police officials are continuing to investigate the collision to determine the factors that contributed to the wreck.
