New Jersey Motor Vehicle Accident: 2 people injured in 3-car wreck on Route 523

Raritan Township, NJ (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A three-vehicle wreck injured two people at the intersection of Red Devil Way and Route 523 on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 , announced the Hunterdon County Democrat.

Police are investigating the two-vehicle crash to determine the cause of the accident. A 2009 VW Tiguan SUV was traveling north on Red Devil Way, and made a left hand turn onto Route 523 when she pulled out in front of a 2009 Toyota Corolla, which had been traveling eastbound and collided at the intersection.

Police identified the driver of the SUV as 17-year-old Keri Rickman, resident of Raritan Township. The driver of the Toyota Corolla was identified as 51-year-old Lingo Hwang, resident of Readington, Pennsylvania.

The two-vehicle collision pushed both cars into the middle of the intersection as a 2001 Buick Century, driven by 47-year-old Gregory France, resident of Raritan Township, slammed on his brakes in an attempt to avoid the crash.

Emergency medical services (EMS) Flemington-Raritan Rescue Squad arrived at the scene to transport the injured victims. Hwang and Rickman were both taken to the Hunterdon Medical Center to be treated by doctors and nurses for their head injuries. Hwang would not consent to be treated. Police issued Rickman a summons for careless driving in traffic.
