Pennsylvania Truck Accident Report: 4 fatalities in crash on I-95

Philadelphia, PA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – Four people were fatally injured when their car swerved out of control, slid under a tractor-trailer bed, and ejected one person onto Interstate 95, announced Philadelphia Daily News.

Police reported the accident to have taken place on Interstate 95 between Girard Avenue and Allegheny Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning. The driver of a Mitsubishi Lancer was traveling down the Interstate, and had reportedly lost control, spun around, and slid beneath a semi truck.

Officials said that the driver had been speeding, and changing lanes erratically when the he made a hard right and lost control. The quick maneuver sent the car spinning, and slid 10 feet beneath a semi truck then broke free from under the trailer bed and continued spinning, which ejected one passenger out of the vehicle.

Police reported finding the vehicle at the bottom of an off ramp at Girard Avenue. The driver and the three passengers were declared dead at the scene by police and medical officials. The operator of the semi truck remained uninjured.

The names of the fatally injured in the crash were not announced as of Sunday afternoon. I-95 was temporarily shut down for a few hours. Pennsylvania State Troopers are continuing the investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
