Police identified the motorcyclist as 52-year-old John Roberts, resident of Brentwood, who was ejected off of his bike and then ran over by another vehicle Thursday night. Police and emergency medical services (EMS) arrived at the scene of the accident to find the motorcyclist in the road and the truck and sedan had already fled the scene. Roberts was already dead.

Roberts had been traveling in the eastbound lanes on the Southern State Parkway around 10 p.m. on his Kawasaki motorcycle approaching Exit 36.
